PMR to continue VW Racing Cup campaign in 2018

Power Maxed Racing have announced the continuation of their Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup campaign for 2018.

The Warwickshire based team are best known for their success in the British Touring Car Championship, but have enjoyed successes in many other forms of motorsport. They’re highly respected for both building and running their now famous Volkswagen Polo WRC cars, fielded in the Volkswagen Racing Cup by well-known drivers such as Russell Joyce, the man behind motorsport design high fliers Joyce Design.

PMR are now looking to expand their profile in the prestigious championship and have several options available to potential drivers; from Arrive & Drive programmes to full car builds, along with the opportunity to run customers’ cars throughout the season. This allows drivers access to the team’s full support structure, including precision suspension tuning, specialist component fabrication, and management by some of the most experienced figures in motorsport.

For 2018, the Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup will introduce a second class onto its grid. This will take the form of a field of lower spec Volkswagen group cars, running a control tyre, similar to class B cars in the series’ sister championship, the Maximumgroup.net VAG Trophy, which is set to merge with the Volkswagen Cup in 2018. This class will have a separate points system, and will be gridded separate to the main field, bringing some diverse cars and close racing to the already fantastic package. Power Maxed Racing have opportunities for both cars and drivers available in both categories.

Once again, for 2018 the championship will feature extensive TV coverage and media opportunities, aligning itself with both the highly publicised British GT Championship, and the upcoming British TCR in its inaugural year.

Full VIP hospitality is an integral part of the package, and managed this year by the series organisers themselves, giving drivers the perfect opportunity to entertain sponsors within Volkswagen Racing’s own brand new Hospitality area.

2018 is set to be one of the strongest years for the championship to date, so if you’re considering a drive or interested in testing one of Power Maxed Racing’s highly competitive VW Racing Cup cars, or indeed have their BTCC Engineers maintain and run your own car, please contact Team Manager Martin Broadhurst on 01789 330727, or This email address is being protected from spambots.
