PMR Completes BTCC Lineup
Power Maxed Racing (PMR) have today announced that Senna Proctor will remain with the team for the 2018 BTCC season.
The Driffield-based 19-year-old secured the prestigious Jack Sears Trophy (for series rookie drivers) with five rounds of the 2017 season left to run, and is looking to capitalise on his previous experience in the PMR-built Vauxhall Astra.
Senna will join team mate Josh Cook, who won the Jack Sears Trophy in 2015, also with PMR. The combination of two Jack Sears Champions demonstrates PMR’s investment and belief in young talent and puts the team in an enviable position as they prepare to launch their 2018 campaign.
With a year of data under their belts, along with Senna Proctor already seeing several top ten finishes with the car in 2017, the Warwickshire-based team are confident of success when the season kicks off this April, at the traditional season opener at Brands Hatch.
“Continuity is key for any race team, and we’re delighted to have secured Senna for his second consecutive season in the car. The team have been working incredibly hard throughout the winter months to ensure Senna stayed with us for 2018, and hopefully beyond. The fact we’ll have two Jack Sears Champions who’ve both won with us is the icing on the cake,” stated Martin Broadhurst, Team Manager.
Adam Weaver, Team Principal commented: “We are well aware of Senna’s ability. He is still only 19 and developed superbly as a driver during last season. With a year in the car under his belt and a winter of hard work we expect him to be very strong in 2018. I believe we have secured the most exciting lineup in the Championship with two of the past three Jack Sears Trophy winners and cannot wait for the season to start.”
Senna Proctor added: “It’s great to be staying with Power Maxed Racing for the forthcoming season. We’ve been working hard together through the winter to strike the right deal, and you can’t put a price on having confidence in both the car and the team behind it. 2017 was a fantastic year for all of us, and with the work Martin Broadhurst and the team have been putting in, and having Josh Cook as a team mate, I’m confident 2018 will be our year! I’d like to thank my existing sponsors, LAPD, Bee Health and Proctor Plant for the continued support.”
In their continued efforts to further nurture young motorsport talent, PMR have formed a two-way Partnership with new Clio Cup Team, Matrix Motorsport, for 2018 and beyond. Headed up by Senna Proctor, this initiative will give Matrix Motorsport drivers and sponsors the opportunity to get a taste of the Touring Car paddock from the inside, and create a defined route into BTCC.
PMR will reveal the 2018 livery of the expertly engineered Vauxhall Astra at the BTCC Media Day, taking place at Donington Park on the 27th March.
