POWER MAXED RACING GOES TO HOLLYWOOD
Power Maxed Racing are excited to announce that celebrity TV baker, Paul Hollywood will be joining the team in one of their BTCC Chevrolets for a special exhibition drive at this years CarFest North, to be held at Oulton Park between 31 July – 2 August. Power Maxed Racing will be attending, with Paul Hollywood joining BTCC regular Josh Cook and taking part in short 3-lap demonstration races and drivers’ autograph signings for each day of the event.
Liverpool-born Hollywood is famous for his culinary talents, also being a long serving judge on the BBC’s Great British Bake Off. However Paul also has a lesser known driving talent having recently competed in the Le Mans Festival and Britcar Trophy in a GT4 Aston Martin Vantage.
Paul Hollywood, commented, “It’s like a dream come true to be able to race one of the Power Maxed Racing British Touring Cars. What makes it even more special is that we are supporting BBC Children in Need and I’ll be racing at my home circuit of Oulton Park. The front wheel drive touring car is very different to the Aston Martin GTs I’m used to but the team have been great in preparing me for the differences and I can’t wait to get some laps under my belt.
“I’ve been a regular at CarFest and it’s a wonderful event to be a part of. I’m sure this will be a mega experience and I’m really looking forward to the whole weekend.”
CarFest North is the brainchild of car enthusiast and broadcaster Chris Evans, who also hosts the event, with a major slice of ticket sales goes to BBC Children in Need. CarFest has already raised more than £4 million for the charity and is spread across two events, CarFest North and CarFest South.
Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing, Team Principal commented, “To be able to support a charitable event such as CarFest is fantastic, plus being a car nut, I’m excited to be going, let alone demonstrating our BTCC cars for an enthusiastic bunch of fans. We’ve had a great season so far and this is the perfect chance to let our hair down and enjoy ourselves.”
Weaver continued, “We’re also very proud that Power Maxed Racing are the team to give Paul his first chance to race a British Touring Car. The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship really is the pinnacle of domestic British motorsport and these short races are a fantastic introduction for Paul.”
