Aiden Moffat Claims First Podium of 2026 as Power Maxed Racing Enjoys Strong Donington Weekend
Aiden Moffat secured his first podium of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season at Donington Park, while Dexter Patterson claimed an Independent victory and the Jack Sears Trophy as Power Maxed Racing enjoyed a strong weekend on the GP Circuit.
Power Maxed Racing enjoyed a successful return to Donington Park this weekend, with its four Audi S3s producing two Independent victories, Aiden Moffat’s first podium of the season and a Jack Sears Trophy victory across Rounds 19, 20 & 21 of the 2026 British Touring Car Championship.
Returning to Donington Park for the second time this season, the team tackled the longer GP Circuit after racing on the National Circuit during the opening rounds in April.
With the championship battles intensifying as the season enters its final stages, all four drivers had plenty to fight for across the weekend.
LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing
Mikey Doble made an immediate impression in Free Practice, finishing second fastest overall and showing strong pace around the Donington GP Circuit.
Doble and teammate Aiden Moffat were placed into Qualifying Group 2, with Dexter Patterson and Nick Halstead taking part in Group 1.
Qualifying produced mixed fortunes for the LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing duo. Doble secured eighth on the grid, while Moffat qualified 14th after having a lap good enough for second position disallowed for exceeding track limits.
Despite starting further down the grid than his outright pace suggested, Moffat continued to make progress through the weekend.
In the Qualifying Race, Moffat finished 12th, with Doble following in 14th. Doble did, however, secure the fastest lap among the Independent runners.
Moffat then produced a strong drive in Race 1 to finish 11th, while Doble crossed the line in 10th.
Race 2 saw Moffat continue his progress with an eighth-place finish, while Doble endured a more difficult race and was classified 19th.
The results set up a dramatic final race, with Moffat starting from third on the grid after the reverse-grid draw.
The Scottish driver made the most of the opportunity, delivering one of his strongest drives of the season to finish second, securing his first podium of the 2026 campaign and an Independent victory.
After showing front-running pace in qualifying before losing his fastest lap to track limits, Moffat’s Race 3 performance provided a significant reward for his efforts throughout the weekend.
Doble also recovered strongly in the final race, finishing 11th to bring his Donington weekend to a close.
Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing
Dexter Patterson and Nick Halstead were placed into Qualifying Group 1 following Free Practice, with Patterson finishing 19th and Halstead 23rd in the opening session.
Patterson then made significant progress in qualifying, securing ninth on the grid and putting the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing Audi inside the top ten.
Halstead qualified 23rd as he continued to build experience during his second weekend back on the BTCC grid following his return at Knockhill.
Patterson converted his strong qualifying performance into a 10th-place finish in the Qualifying Race, while Halstead finished 20th.
Race 1 saw Patterson continue his progress, finishing seventh and securing another strong points finish.
The Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing driver then went one better in Race 2, crossing the line in sixth and taking the Independent victory.
Patterson continued to strengthen his position in the Jack Sears Trophy battle and went on to secure the Jack Sears Trophy in Race 3.
Starting the final race from fifth, Patterson ultimately finished 10th, completing a weekend in which he scored points in all three BTCC races.
For Halstead, Donington provided another valuable opportunity to continue his return to the championship. After finishing 20th in the Qualifying Race, he crossed the line 19th in Race 1 and 20th in Race 2 before finishing 18th in the final race.
The weekend provided further valuable mileage for Halstead as he continues to build his experience with the Steel Seal-backed Audi S3.
Two Independent Victories, a First Podium and the Jack Sears Trophy
The Donington weekend delivered plenty of positives across both sides of the Power Maxed Racing garage.
Patterson claimed an Independent victory in Race 2, while Moffat followed suit in Race 3, where his second-place finish also secured his first podium of the 2026 season.
Patterson added the Jack Sears Trophy to the team’s achievements, while Doble’s pace throughout the weekend, including second place in Free Practice and the fastest Independent lap in the Qualifying Race, provided further encouragement.
For Moffat, the result was particularly significant after showing front-running pace in qualifying but having his second-place lap removed for exceeding track limits.
With four Audi S3s continuing to battle across the Drivers’, Independents’ and Jack Sears Trophy standings, attention now turns to Croft, where Power Maxed Racing will return for Rounds 22, 23 & 24.
The final stages of the 2026 season are now firmly underway, with plenty still to fight for across both LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing and Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing as the championship heads to Croft.
