LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing Battle Extreme Heat at Snetterton
LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing endured a challenging but hard-fought weekend at Snetterton as extreme temperatures played a major role throughout Rounds 7, 8 & 9 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.
Arriving at the Norfolk circuit carrying strong championship momentum following a successful Brands Hatch weekend, the team faced some of the hottest conditions seen so far this season, with track temperatures exceeding 40 degrees across the event.
Saturday's Free Practice session took place under intense heat, with track temperatures climbing to 38 degrees as both drivers worked through their programmes around the demanding Snetterton circuit. A red flag interruption with 15 minutes remaining limited overall running, although the LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed entries still completed a combined total of 39 laps across the session.
Aiden Moffat ended Free Practice ninth fastest overall, while Mikey Doble finished 14th, placing the pair into separate qualifying groups later that afternoon.
Qualifying once again took place in extremely difficult conditions, with air temperatures reaching 28 degrees and track temperatures remaining close to 40 degrees. Moffat secured 11th overall on the combined timesheets, while Doble qualified 14th, setting their grid positions for the Qualifying Race.
The Qualifying Race itself proved frustrating for the team. Doble battled hard throughout the contest to maintain 14th position at the flag, while Moffat's race unfortunately ended prematurely with a retirement.
Sunday brought even more punishing conditions, with track temperatures climbing to 42 degrees ahead of Race One. In addition to the heat, both drivers continued to operate with reduced boost allocations due to their championship positions, adding another challenge around the long and demanding Snetterton layout.
Starting from 14th on the grid, Doble delivered a solid and consistent drive to finish Race One in 14th position, while Moffat gained two places from 20th on the grid to finish 18th despite the difficult conditions.
Race Two saw both drivers continue to battle hard in the ultra-competitive BTCC field, with Doble improving to 13th at the chequered flag and Moffat securing 15th position after another closely fought contest.
The final race of the weekend produced further progress for the team, with Doble narrowly missing out on the top ten after taking 11th place, while Moffat completed the weekend in 14th following another demanding race in the extreme temperatures.
Despite the challenges faced throughout the weekend, the team continued to fight hard across all three races while managing difficult conditions for drivers, cars and crew alike.
Leaving Snetterton, Mikey Doble now sits eighth in the Drivers' Championship and second in the Independents Trophy standings, while Aiden Moffat holds 13th overall in the Drivers' standings and fifth in the Independents classification.
LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing also leaves the Norfolk weekend fourth in the overall Teams' Championship while continuing to lead the Independent Teams' Championship heading into the next round of the season.
Attention now turns to Oulton Park in two weeks' time as LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing looks to return to the sharp end of the championship battle in the next phase of the 2026 BTCC season.
