Mikey Doble and Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing Deliver Strong Performance at Donington Park

Donington Park, UK – April 27, 2025 –

Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing (PMR) kicked off the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season in style at Donington Park yesterday, with Mikey Doble delivering an impressive set of results that firmly established him as one to watch this year.

Doble showed superb pace from the outset, qualifying strongly and carrying that momentum into the races. In Race 1, he battled hard to secure a brilliant fifth-place finish. Also securing the first independent driver win of the season. A fitting way to start the year.

Despite a small technical infringement, due to the team not clearing the grid fast enough, as initially the car would not restart on the grid, and having to spend a little extra time to get it fired up. Unfortunately, thus forcing a drive-through penalty after the start of Race 2, Doble rejoined in last position and fought back from last to finish a credible 16th, demonstrating resilience and maturity in his driving.

In the final race of the day, he stormed back into the top six, from his 16th place starting position, securing another Independent Team and Driver Race Win, crossing the line in sixth place, and securing crucial points for the overall Drivers Championship.

The performances marked a major step forward for the 24-year-old, who has been steadily building his BTCC credentials within the PMR squad. His speed, race-craft, and consistency over the weekend drew praise from many across the paddock.

Speaking after the races, Doble said:

“It’s a little bit bittersweet because I know we had the pace for even more, but overall, I’m proud of what we achieved this weekend. A fifth and a sixth-place finish is a fantastic way to start the season. The car felt incredible thanks to all the hard work from the team, and this gives us a real platform to build from as the season progresses. Along with thanking them I’d like to extend my gratitude to both our new and loyal team partners that have made this weekend possible”

Power Maxed Racing Team Principal Adam Weaver added:

“We knew Mikey would make a real step forward going into his 3rd season and all with us, but to see it come together so strongly at the very first round is brilliant for everyone involved. He showed top 5 race pace, composure, and real racing instinct. We’re delighted with how both Mikey and the car performed, and this weekend proves that Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing will be a real force in the 2025 BTCC season. I’m confident we’re only just getting started.”

With a strong haul of points and a statement of intent made at Donington Park, Mikey Doble and Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing now look ahead to the next BTCC rounds full of confidence and determination to build on this early success.

The Team and Driver leave Donington

1st in The Independent Teams Championship, which is no small feat, when they have only one car to score points.

2nd in the Independent Drivers Championship and Mikey sitting in 9th position in the overall drivers' championship.
