Mikey Doble Battles Hard at Silverstone for Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing — and Comes Away with Silverware

Silverstone, UK — September 22, 2025
Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing’s Mikey Doble showed grit and determination at Silverstone this weekend as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship delivered another action-packed round.
Fresh off a season of breakthroughs and heartbreak, Doble once again proved he belongs at the sharp end of the BTCC grid. Despite the challenges he and the team have faced in cars still relatively new to them, the Surrey racer fought through a tough qualifying session to line up 11th for the opening race on Sunday.
Race 1 promised a solid result until drama struck. As DeLeon suffered a puncture ahead, Doble lifted to avoid contact, only to be tagged from behind by Tom Chilton. The impact broke the rear shear plates, forcing him to pit. Rejoining at the back, a safety car period denied him the chance to recover ground.
Starting Race 2 from the rear of the grid, Doble launched a determined comeback drive — scything through the pack to finish an impressive 11th after 25 hard-fought laps.
The weekend’s defining moment came in Race 3, with the reverse-grid draw putting Osbourne on pole and Doble alongside him on the front row. A lightning start saw Doble surge into contention, but the newer Cupras still lack the outright pace of the team’s faithful “old” Astra. Despite a spirited defence, he eventually slipped back to 10th — but crucially, it was enough to clinch top Independent Driver honours, while his championship rivals faltered further down the order.
Mikey Doble said:
“Silverstone wasn’t easy, but we dug in and got the car working stronger as the weekend went on. Race 2 felt really competitive — we showed we can mix it with the front runners. The aim now is to carry this momentum into the next round and push for the top ten again, and hopefully a reverse-grid podium.”
Adam Weaver, Team Principal of Power Maxed Racing, added:
“Mikey drove with real maturity and determination this weekend. The setbacks in Race 1 could have derailed the whole meeting, but he bounced back brilliantly. To come away with Independent honours and more valuable points shows the progress both he and the team are making. We’re proud of the fight and focus he brought to Silverstone — and we’re going to Brands Hatch with the clear goal of bringing home the Independent title.”
With Motor Parts Direct’s support, Power Maxed Racing continues to push forward in 2025, turning promise into results against one of the toughest fields in British motorsport.
