Mikey Doble Takes Croft Race Three Victory as Power Maxed Racing Strengthen Championship Lead

Mikey Doble claimed victory in the final race of the weekend at Croft, securing an Independent win and extending his lead in the Independents Trophy, as Power Maxed Racing strengthened its position across the championship standings.

Power Maxed Racing leaves Croft with plenty of positives after a dramatic three-race weekend at the North Yorkshire circuit, with the four-car Audi S3 squad battling through mixed conditions and delivering a strong finish to Rounds 22, 23 & 24 of the 2026 British Touring Car Championship. 

With the championship entering its decisive stages, both the LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing and Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing entries head to the penultimate round with championship targets firmly in sight. 

LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing

Mikey Doble produced the standout result of the weekend for LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing, taking victory in Race Three from pole position and securing yet another Independent win.

Doble entered the final race from pole following the reverse-grid draw, with teammate Aiden Moffat starting alongside him in second.

The front-row lockout gave the team a perfect opportunity to challenge for victory, with Doble converting his pole position into a race win and recording the fastest Independent lap of the race with a time of 1:21.975. 

The victory sees Doble retain his position at the head of the Independents Trophy, extending his advantage to 33 points heading into the penultimate round of the season at Silverstone.

Doble had shown strong pace throughout the weekend, qualifying third before a difficult qualifying race saw him finish 21st. He recovered strongly during Sunday’s racing, finishing ninth in the opening wet race before taking tenth in Race Two. 

The final race provided the perfect opportunity to convert that pace into a result, with Doble taking the chequered flag to claim his first race victory of the weekend.

His teammate Aiden Moffat also delivered a strong weekend, qualifying seventh before finishing sixth in the qualifying race. 

Moffat continued that form in Race One, securing sixth place in the wet conditions, which resulted in the Independent win, before finishing ninth in Race Two after receiving a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits. 

Starting Race Three from second on the grid, Moffat completed a strong sixth-place finish to round out the weekend. 

The combined results mean LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing continue to lead the Independent Teams’ Championship, extending their advantage to 27 points heading into Silverstone. 

Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing

Dexter Patterson produced a strong recovery across Sunday’s three races to finish eighth in the final race and further extend his lead in the Jack Sears Trophy. 

Patterson qualified 16th at Croft and finished the qualifying race in the same position, with the team continuing to work on the balance and performance of the Steel Seal Audi throughout Saturday. 

Race One brought challenging wet conditions, but Patterson immediately demonstrated the pace that has previously seen him perform strongly in difficult conditions. 

Starting 16th, Patterson quickly moved through the field to ninth before an unfortunate incident involving teammates dropped him down the order. He fought back through the field to finish 19th on the road, before being classified 18th following a penalty for another driver. 

Race Two saw Patterson return to strong form in the dry conditions. Starting on the soft tyre, he made a strong launch and showed impressive pace throughout the race, finishing 12th and recording the fastest Independent lap of the race with a time of 1:23.014. 

That result placed Patterson into the reverse-grid draw for Race Three, although ball 10 was drawn, leaving him to start the final race from 12th. 

Running the hard tyre in Race Three, Patterson battled hard through the pack and demonstrated strong pace despite the tyre choice. He avoided several incidents around him and crossed the line in ninth before a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits. 

Following a further penalty for a competitor, Patterson was promoted to eighth position.

The result further strengthens Patterson’s position at the head of the Jack Sears Trophy, with his advantage now standing at 118 points heading into the penultimate round at Silverstone. 

Alongside Patterson, Nick Halstead continued his progress with the new Power Maxed Racing Audi. 

After qualifying 23rd and starting the qualifying race from the same position, Halstead finished 21st in Race Two before making further progress in Race Three to finish 17th.

The weekend marked another step forward for Halstead, who was particularly pleased with the balance and performance of the Audi in the final race.

Looking Ahead to Silverstone

With Croft now complete, Power Maxed Racing heads to Silverstone for the penultimate round of the 2026 BTCC season with its championship campaigns firmly on track.

Mikey Doble leads the Independents Trophy by 33 points, while LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing holds a 27-point advantage in the Independent Teams’ Championship. 

Dexter Patterson meanwhile holds a 118 point lead in the Jack Sears Trophy.

The team will return to action at Silverstone determined to maximise its championship positions before the season finale at Brands Hatch.
