Milestone Weekend for Patterson and Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing at Oulton Park

Oulton Park proved to be a landmark weekend for Dexter Patterson and Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing as the Scotsman celebrated his 100th British Touring Car Championship start and claimed the Jack Sears Trophy lead during Rounds 10, 11 & 12 of the 2026 season.

The Cheshire circuit provided a challenging backdrop for Rounds 10, 11 & 12 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, with changeable weather conditions creating a constantly evolving challenge throughout the weekend.

Patterson immediately demonstrated encouraging pace during Saturday’s Free Practice sessions, finishing eighth fastest as the team worked through its preparations ahead of qualifying.

Cloudy skies, a strong breeze and occasional drizzle greeted the field for qualifying, but Patterson continued to impress. A strong performance in Qualifying Group Two secured third place within his group and fifth position on the grid for the Qualifying Race.

A measured drive in increasingly difficult conditions saw Patterson secure eighth place in the Qualifying Race, placing the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing Audi firmly in contention heading into Sunday’s three races.

Sunday began with improving track conditions following overnight rain, allowing Patterson to continue building momentum. He narrowly missed out on a top ten finish in Race One with 11th place, before producing one of his strongest performances of the season in Race Two to secure eighth position and valuable championship points.

The reverse grid draw then handed Patterson an excellent opportunity in the final race of the weekend, placing him fourth on the starting grid. Although the hard-compound tyre proved challenging throughout the field, Patterson once again delivered a mature and composed drive to finish eighth and conclude a productive weekend.

While the results reflected another solid points scoring weekend, the bigger picture was even more encouraging. Patterson continues to make significant progress during his first season with Power Maxed Racing, consistently demonstrating increased confidence and stronger qualifying pace against one of the most competitive grids in motorsport.

The Oulton Park weekend also marked Patterson’s 100th BTCC start, adding another significant milestone to his touring car career. Reaching a century of starts is a notable achievement for any driver, and the occasion was made even more rewarding by Patterson leaving the weekend at the top of the Jack Sears Trophy standings and taking home the trophy.

Leaving Cheshire, Patterson sits 14th in the Drivers’ Championship, eighth in the Independents Trophy and first in the Jack Sears Trophy, while Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing remains fifth in the Independent Teams’ Championship and ninth overall.

With momentum continuing to build, confidence growing with every round and the Jack Sears Trophy lead in his possession, Oulton Park represented another important step forward for Patterson and the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing programme as attention turns to the next stage of the 2026 season.
