PM1 Junior Championship Confirms Quaife as Official Drivetrain Partner
The PM1 Junior Championship has confirmed Quaife as its Official Drivetrain Partner for the new junior racing platform.
Established in 1965, Quaife has built a long-standing reputation within motorsport and performance automotive engineering, supplying sequential gearboxes, differentials, and transmission systems across categories ranging from club-level racing through to international motorsport.
Quaife will supply the championship-spec sequential gearbox and differential package used across the PM1 grid, forming a core part of the car’s controlled technical specification.
Every car will run the same Quaife sequential transmission package, ensuring consistent performance across the grid while giving drivers experience of the same style of transmission found throughout higher levels of circuit racing.
The package has been chosen with long-term reliability in mind across a full season of racing and testing. With no scope for development or modification, the aim is to keep the cars consistent, straightforward to run, and predictable from a cost perspective throughout the year.
That sits at the centre of the championship's wider approach. By controlling the technical package and limiting development, the focus remains on driver progression while helping teams and families avoid the cost escalation often associated with junior motorsport.
Using a single, centrally supplied drivetrain package also reduces maintenance complexity and removes the need for ongoing component development or rebuild programmes during the season.
As well as working with leading motorsport supplier, the championship remains focused on accessibility, with car pricing competitively positioned at £74,995 + VAT.
However, an initial allocation of ten cars will be available at £69,995 + VAT, supported by a £5,000 sponsorship contribution from car care brand Power Maxed, in return for brand presence on the allocated cars.
The running costs for an entire season will be approximately £85,000 per annum, to include 30 races across ten race weekends and ten test days, alongside the BTCC at all rounds.
