Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing Faces Demanding Snetterton Weekend

Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing endured a demanding weekend at Snetterton as Dexter Patterson battled extreme temperatures and a fiercely competitive field during Rounds 7, 8 & 9 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.

With temperatures continuing to rise throughout the weekend, the Norfolk circuit presented one of the toughest physical and technical challenges of the season so far, placing additional strain on drivers, tyres and crew across all sessions.

Despite the difficult conditions, Patterson showed encouraging pace from the outset during Saturday's Free Practice sessions. Working through the team's setup programme around the long and technical Snetterton layout, the Scotsman secured an impressive fourth-fastest time overall before a late red flag interruption.

The result placed Patterson into Qualifying Group Two later that afternoon as track temperatures continued to climb towards 40 degrees.

Qualifying proved to be another incredibly close session, with Patterson securing 12th overall on the combined timesheets in challenging conditions. The result placed the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing entry firmly in the midfield battle heading into the Qualifying Race.

Patterson produced a controlled and competitive drive during the Qualifying Race itself, gaining ground in several close on-track battles before taking the chequered flag in 11th position.

Sunday's race day brought even hotter conditions, with track temperatures upwards of 42 degrees around the Norfolk venue. Managing tyre degradation and maintaining consistency became a key factor throughout all three races as grip levels continued to evolve across the day.

Starting Race One from 16th on the grid, Patterson fought hard throughout a physically demanding contest to maintain position within the tightly packed BTCC field, eventually bringing the Audi home in 16th place.

Race Two proved to be another difficult encounter as Patterson continued to battle within the midfield pack, ultimately finishing 19th after another close and aggressive race.

The final contest of the weekend saw Patterson continue pushing despite the challenging conditions, taking 17th place at the flag to conclude a difficult but valuable points weekend for the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing car.

While the final results did not fully reflect the pace shown during Free Practice, the weekend once again highlighted the continued progress being made throughout Patterson's 2026 campaign.

Leaving Snetterton, Patterson now sits 15th in the Drivers' Championship while continuing to hold second position in the Jack Sears Trophy standings heading into the next round of the season.

Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing also leaves Norfolk ninth in the overall Teams' Championship and fifth in the Independent Teams' standings as attention now turns towards Oulton Park in two weeks' time.
