Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing Shows Strong Pace at Brands Hatch

Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing endured a dramatic but encouraging weekend at Brands Hatch Indy as Dexter Patterson showcased strong pace throughout the latest round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Patterson made an immediate impact during Saturday's Free Practice sessions, finishing an impressive second overall around the short and demanding Indy circuit. The strong pace demonstrated the potential of the Audi S3 package heading into qualifying later that afternoon.

Competing in the second qualifying group, Patterson continued his strong form to secure eighth position overall, earning eighth place on the grid for the qualifying race.

The Scotsman then produced a composed and consistent drive during the qualifying race itself, maintaining eighth position throughout the contest to secure another top 10 result and a solid starting position for Sunday's opening race.

Race One brought difficult and challenging conditions after light rain began falling as the cars prepared to head to the grid. With only a brief shower forecast, the field elected to remain on slick tyres, resulting in a tense and unpredictable race.

Unfortunately for Patterson, contact during the race forced the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing driver into the gravel trap. The incident caused significant wheel damage, with the wheel splitting in half following the impact, forcing Patterson into retirement and recording a disappointing DNF despite the promising pace shown throughout the weekend.

Starting Race Two from 20th on the grid, Patterson responded brilliantly with a determined recovery drive through the field. Avoiding further drama and making strong progress throughout the race, he climbed 11 positions to finish ninth and return to the points in impressive fashion.

The final race of the weekend saw Patterson line up ninth on the grid and once again battle hard in the ultra-competitive BTCC field. After another close and physical contest around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, he crossed the line in 11th position to conclude a resilient weekend performance.

Following the Brands Hatch round, Patterson now sits 11th in the overall Drivers' Championship standings and second in the Jack Sears Trophy classification. Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing also leaves the weekend fifth in the Independent Teams' standings and eighth overall in the Teams' Championship.

Despite the setbacks encountered across the weekend, the pace shown throughout Free Practice, qualifying and the recovery drives in Sunday's races provide strong encouragement heading into the next round of the 2026 BTCC season.
