Strong Finish at Thruxton Sees Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing End on a High

Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing enjoyed a weekend of steady progress at Thruxton, with Dexter Patterson fighting through the field across all three races before securing an impressive ninth-place finish and the fastest Independent lap in the final race of the weekend. 

Returning to action after the BTCC summer break, Patterson faced a challenging start at the UK's fastest circuit, ending Free Practice in 20th position before qualifying in the same position later on Saturday. 

The opening Qualifying Race provided the first signs of progress, with Patterson making up six places to finish 14th after a determined drive through the field, giving the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing squad an encouraging platform heading into Sunday's three races. 

Race One saw Patterson continue to battle in the midfield, crossing the line in 16th after another hard-fought performance around the high-speed Hampshire circuit. 

Another consistent drive followed in Race Two, where Patterson once again finished 16th while continuing to gather valuable championship points ahead of the final race of the weekend. 

Lining up for Race Three, Patterson delivered an excellent recovery drive. Making the most of opportunities throughout the race, the Scotsman climbed into the top ten to secure an impressive ninth-place finish, rounding off the weekend with his best result. 

As well as securing valuable championship points, Patterson also recorded the fastest Independent lap during the final race, underlining the pace shown by the Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing Audi S3 as the weekend progressed. 

The result marks another positive step in Patterson's 2026 campaign, with the team continuing to make gains throughout the season despite the challenges presented by one of the BTCC calendar's most demanding circuits. 

Following Thruxton, Patterson sits 16th in the Drivers' Championship, and second place in the Jack Sears Trophy standings. Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing remains ninth in the overall Teams' Championship and fifth in the Independent Teams' Championship, with Patterson also holding ninth position in the Independents Trophy. 

Attention now turns to Knockhill, where Patterson will return to his home circuit looking to build on the momentum gained at Thruxton. With confidence growing after a strong finish in Hampshire, both driver and team will be aiming to continue their progress as the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship enters its second half.
