Power Maxed Racing joined the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in 2014 and quickly established itself as a competitive team. Initially fielding a Chevrolet Cruze, the team expanded to two cars in 2015, achieving consistent top-ten finishes and a podium at Rockingham. In 2017, PMR partnered with Vauxhall as a Manufacturer, with Tom Chilton and rookie Senna Proctor delivering silverware and the Jack Sears Trophy, respectively. Over the years, the team celebrated major successes, including race wins, podiums, and a best-ever third in the Teams’ Championship in 2018. Jason Plato and Rob Collard powered the team to fifth in 2019, and Plato marked his 600th BTCC start in 2021. In 2023 Andrew Watson claimed Jack Sears Trophy honours at the first time of asking and in 2024, we followed the success by claiming the Independent Teams Title for the first time in our history, along with Árón Taylor-Smith taking the Independent Drivers Title and Mikey Doble claiming the Jack Sears Trophy.
"When forming the team in 2015, it was important that we picked only the most experienced staff, and used only components that we knew could withstand the harsh conditions that only elite motorsport brings.
Since 2015, we've formed enviable relationships with some of the most prominent names in motorsport, and together with our engineering experience, offer a unique service within the industry, whilst treating customers' cars with the same care and attention to detail that we treat our race winning BTCC cars with."
